Derick Crucius is a Philadelphia based independent filmmaker, artist, and muscian. The themes in Derick‛s work tend to revolve around outcasts of society. He is deeply interested by what is considered social norms and likes to expose the behavior of the unwanted. Other themes that are present in his films are the idea of isolation, poverty, loneliness, mental health, and the celebration of life and death. He also likes to combine analog with digital technology to showcase the stark contrast between the two, thus adding to the debate of technology versus concept. His work has screened at multiple film festivals and cinemas around the world.
