Biography

Throughout the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s Ralph Ackerman’s films were available through the catalog of the Film-Makers’ Cooperative. Ackerman has been a film judge at several national and local films festivals, has won several awards, and has been involved in film conferences and workshops. He was a champion of small format filmmaking. He taught, held workshops, wrote on the subject, and developed new methods to gain acceptance. He produced the first feature in Super8 film to be transferred to broadcast video using the digital transfer method in 1980. His photography and graphic art has been published in numerous periodicals.
