Keywords: Environment & Nature, Ethnic / Multicultural, Psychology & Mental Health

A black man wakes from a dream to early morning dismay. Feeling hunted, he rushes into the city, where a sense of desolation rises in him as, through his eyes, the city decays. He flees to the forest, but the image of dreamed hunter reappears. Trapped by his vision, he collapses into it and becomes the hunted stag, is flayed and unmanned. At the height of his terror, having seen the whiteness beneath his skin, he wakens to a reversed world where he is now white.--A. G. "Marsyas has demonstrated to me for the first time that a highly developed 'still' photographer can become motion-conscious enough to strike off a positively beautiful work of cinema art."--Stan Brakhage
