A young, boyish sketch artist falls madly in love with an attractive but older woman whom he sees jogging in Central Park one day. Because he lives in such a different world from the woman's, the boy can only fantasize about her in his apartment, drawing sketches and collecting articles of clothing reminiscent of her. Still, he pursues the woman through-out the city, only to have his dream about her painfully destroyed at the end. However, one realizes that there is a haunting loneliness in the woman's life also, a loneliness that can be compared to the boy's as well.
