Triangulum (2009) DVD NTSC, color & b/w, 22 min

Genre: Narrative, Experimental

Directed by Gustavo Jahn and Melissa Dullius. On the edge of the abyss a troupe of three meets faith, who appears in the form of a young woman. They are transported to an eastern metropolis, not knowing where to go or what to do. Random signs are the only directions to follow and will lead each one of them to a different journey. In perpetual movement, paranoids, they go further in search of balance. "Staged and filmed in Cairo by the artists Gustavo Jahn and Melissa Dullius, TRIANGULUM expands the limits of cinema, defying those who insist on maintaining distinct aesthetic forms for film and art. Putting aside such arbitrary limits, the duo strikes again with an exercise of scrambling time and space--going further on what they did on their last film Eternau. Concerned with building their own style and geography--and succeeding in that with remarkable originality and ability, the two Brazilians based in Berlin bring fresh air to the retro-appropriation practices and propose and unstable narrative that, although inspired by Brazilian Marginal Cinema and Glauber Rochas' films is genuine contemporary." -- Bernardo Jose de Souza
