“A Darkness Swallowed opens on a pair of faded photographs showing an old dented car, one with a child standing beside it and the other without. Speaking in voice-over, Bromberg references a past event, once that will forever haunt her although it occurred before her birth. The film then sinks downward, dipping below the surface of the rational world to mine the seemingly infinite layers of the past stored within the fleshy entrails, chalky bones, sinewy spider webs and gnarled ligaments of both the body and the Earth. Whether you are new to editing or an old hand looking for a new editing system Premiere is as cutting edge as it is user friendly and this workshop will help you get started.
This 3-hour workshop taught by Erin Culton will help you with:
*Basic Premiere workflows
*Navigate Premiere settings and tools
*Increase your knowledge of Premiere for editing
*We will also address making the switch from final cut since many editors are familiar with that platform
Erin Culton is a multimedia artist and educator with a background in fine art photography, video production and motion graphics. She attended undergrad at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she studied photography, printmaking, sculpture and video. She went on to get her Masters in Media Production here in NYC at The New School. Her projects have been exhibited widely including shows in Chicago, Tokyo, Hamburg and New York City. She currently resides in Brooklyn, where she heads her own production company, Elektric Breakfast and teaches Digital Editing and Graphics for Cinema at Empire State College.
Performance Screening II: Staged Spontaneity

After the successful screening of Reflections on 16mm Perfromances, we are back with Performance Part II. This show, curated by Linda Fenstermaker, explores the dichtomy between staged and improvised cinematic performances. This evening of 16mm films will showcase rare films from the collection spanning back to the early 1960s.
