Sean
About
The film is unpretentious and yet profound in having a point of view, a sense of humor and a knowledge of how to use the limited technical resources to enhance the subject and style.
Sean is a 4-year-old boy who sits barefoot on a couch in his home in Haight-Ashbury and discourses on pot (he prefers eating it to smoking it), being busted by the fuzz, how he recognizes a speed freak (they're so skinny), his fear of the dark), his dreams about flying and what he hopes to be doing when he is 5 ( to stop sucking his thumb)
Director Arlyck starts with a good subject for a short documentary, asks him provocative questions and gives the whole thing an organic form that wastes no footage whatever. Josesh Gelmis, Newsday
