Biography
Grace Kim is a Korean-American filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist who
takes a lens to the mundane and minutiae to explore the universal human
experiences of loneliness, loss, isolation, and ultimately, the never-ending
search for connection. Her films are characterized by a soft, bloomy and
dreamlike palette as she tonally flits between the tender and the absurd,
finding grand significance through close examination of the quotidian. Her
work spans digital and analog, as well as animation, found footage, poetry,
drawings, and installation. Her work has been screened at the Museum of
the Moving Image, Syndicated Theater, and the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta
Airport and has been supported by the Atlanta Film Society, NYFA, MOME,
Brooklyn Arts Council and the Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts.
