Harriet Hirshorn lived in Turkey, Belgium, England, France, Malaysia and Hong Kong before establishing her home in New York City and, more recently, in Paris. She travels frequently, camera in hand. She has filmed frequently in Haiti and over the past few years in Africa for her current film about the role of women in the struggle against AIDS in Nigeria.
