Biography
Harriet McKern, has recently graduated from the International Film School Sydney in Surry Hills. Her previously exhibited films include Lipstick, the search for the perfect red lipstick (ABC, SBS, numerous festivals), Somewhere Between Light and Reflection (Biennale of Sydney 1998) and A Once Smiling Woman (Biennale of Sydney 2000). Harriet has also held various roles in the Australian film industry including General Manager of the Australian Directors Guild and Coordinator of the prestigious screen development workshop Aurora, working with well respected filmmakers Jane Campion, Gus Van Sant and Fred Schepsi. Harriet combines her study with a strong interest in film distribution. Dear Harriet is her latest short film and a return to the personal and autobiographical.
