Biography

Jordi Torrent is a filmmaker and educator who started filming experimental Super8 films in his native Barcelona in the mid-1970s. In the early 1980s, he produced video art in Paris. During the 1990s he produced indie feature films in New York. His films and videos have been presented around the wowrld at festivals, museums, art spaces, and movie theaters. he has been awarded at the Tokyo Video Festival, Andorra Video Festival, and Dahlonega Film FEstival, among others. He has been nomianted for awards at the Milano Film Festival, Festival of Cinema of New York, and Americana Film Festival. He has written and directed three feature film narratives and many documentaries.
