Biography

Robin Starbuck is an award-winning filmmaker and artist who produces experimental nonfiction film/video. In her work she employs a mixture of documentary and reflexive film style  (limits of the frame, jump cuts, un-synced sound, duration). Her work creates a cinematic space in which viewers are invited to interact with what they see on the screen and create meaning by reflecting on their own experiences, ideas, and truths.  She holds her M.F.A in Installation and Performance from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and exhibits films, installations, and artwork in the US and abroad. Starbuck also produces animated projections for theater and experimental opera in NY and Europe.  She is a Professor of Experimental Film & Animated Media at Sarah Lawrence College, NY.
