Join us from May 9th to May 12th at the Independent Art Fair for a special showcase of experimental film, video, and media artworks from our collection!
During the course of this year’s edition of Independent, the Film-Makers' Cooperative (FMC) will hold a showcase screening of works from its prodigious collection of experimental film, video, and media art in the Fair’s 6th Floor Skybox. With a focus on film and video art’s relationship to sculpture, painting, light art, and slide projection, we will offer an array of works from the history of film and media art that give an introduction to the exciting holdings of the FMC.
The showcase will offer a global snapshot of The Coop’s collection with an emphasis on underseen work from the archive and emerging artists and filmmakers, touching on genres including artist portraits; hand-painted works; city symphonies and dance film.
In addition to showcasing FMC’s holdings our booth will host screenings throughout the run of Independent spotlighting moving-image and media artworks by artists represented by exhibiting galleries.
