Musings Before Dawn2022

Musings Before Dawn is a collaboration between Varoujan Froundjian and Steven May (with Varoujan creating the visuals and Steven composing and performing the soundtrack). The piece runs six minutes and explores the strange, disorienting thoughts that can steal over you early in the morning as worries and fears invade your mind. These thoughts can lead to panic and uncertainty about the future, triggering disturbing, inharmonious and illusionary visions that have the ability to haunt these half-wakeful moments. With Musings Before Dawn I have attempted to capture these feelings and distill them into images. The images were created in Procreate, a software for digital paintings and animations. Adobe After Effects was then utilized to add special effects.
