Based on six dreams and their analyses from Sigmund Freud's THE INTERPRETATION OF DREAMS, DREAM-WORK presents dreams and analyses equally as material to be worked on. By constantly shifting the register of representation–from literal illustration to widest association–and the point of view of narration–is this Freud's meaning, the dreamer's, or the filmmaker's (or mine, the viewer's)?–the film attempts to open up and to play with the way meaning is made consciously and unconsciously, culturally and individually. –J.
