Into Heavenly Glory is an exploration of shifts in emotional states between terror and ecstasy, using the apparatus of a roller coaster to initiate this sublime experience. The title references Mother Mary’s sudden ascension into the sky, marking both her earthly death and divine achievement. The film uncannily converges more trivial, everyday experiences of the sublime with significant and weighted imagery of the sublime in religious institutions.
