CG CAT2009

The letters (A,T,C,G) for a human DNA sample taken from the Human Genome Project are fed into a speech synthesis software. However, instead of reciting them as independent letters (code), the computer pronounces the letters phonetically, creating a 14 minute long chant to incant the name of DNA.

The video depicts four images from American Sign Language hand gestures for the letters A,T,C, and G sequenced as they occur in the code. They draw a connection to the four basic digits on the hand playing with a concept of "digital" as it relates to the body and to language.
