"The central or generating idea of the film is announced in the subtitle (genealogy). The film is, at bottom, an essay at understanding descent, derivation and origin from within that process; standing always where we walk- in the present- traversing a surface that even in its most banal details is historical. Thus the concentration on objects and gestures. Born into a world already in progress, our flesh is trained by the objects we encounter. These objects having been derived from the possibilities of the body, return these possibilities as facts.
