About

"If there is any such thing as a popular avant-garde film, this 1964 picture is it: audiences have found it one of the funniest of all surrealistic comedies. About man's place in the world, or lack of it, the pictures uses single-frame techniqes with actors skating on geta or sailing through the streets on tatami, or barely moving as the high-speed world rushes about them. An invited entry to the 1965 Tours Festival, this picture is the first 16mm by its young (born 1938) director." Donald Richie
