Haunt #451
About
I understand it very little, and I'm not comfortable saying it, but it is true: Often when I've abhorred someone, the feeling was entangled with desire. For instance, the desire for something they have that I do not have, or believe I do not have. And the more I'd refuse to face this truth about myself, and thus remain ignorant, the more cultivated my resentmenrs became. That said, I believe this piece of knowledge could explain the madness of a bigot, of someone whose fear of his own desire has run amok. Someone whose cowardice requires him or her to censor his desires and expects the world to follow suit. Such cowards, throughout history, all too often seem to have their own way. And it is they who are the source of inspiration for HAUNT #451. S. D.
