Biography
Matt McKinzie is a multimedia artist whose work encompasses writing, filmmaking, curation, archival research, and performance.
McKinzie graduated from Emerson College in 2021 with a B.A. in Visual and Media Arts and a Minor in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. His films have screened in the U.S. and internationally at MIX: The New York Queer Experimental Film Festival, Wicked Queer: The Boston LGBTQ+ Film Festival, the Santa Cruz Film Festival, Queer City Cinema, Laboratorio de Cine FAC, 8-Ball TV, and the Film-Makers' Cooperative, among other venues.
McKinzie has researched and curated programs of film and video art that have screened at such venues as Metrograph (New York), Spectacle Theater (New York), Millennium Film Workshop (New York), Mana Contemporary (New Jersey), and Cinema Catalunya (Spain). In 2022, McKinzie was named a ScreenCraft and WeScreenplay Finalist.
