Biography

Rohesia Hamilton Metcalfe makes work in film, video, Flash and html -- exploring our impulses for certainty and closure by creating ambiguous aesthetic and narrative relationships between image, sound and text fragments. Recipient of several grants and artistic residencies, her work has been awarded prizes and shown internationally in festivals (including Locarno VideoArt Festival, Dallas Video Festival, Experimenta, Tampere Film Festival, femme totale festival), galleries, microcinemas, on television and on the internet. She has organized performing arts events, curated film and video programs, taught video image-processing and designs websites for artists.
