Screening
An Evening with The Numb Spiral: The Films of M Woods
On Friday, March 24th at 7pm, join us at the FMC Screening Room (475 Park Avenue South, 6th Floor) for a program of films by M Woods (plus a film by Jack Smith!), curated by Devon Narine-Singh!
This evening brings an activation of filmmaker M Woods' Numb Spiral. The Numb Spiral is the ongoing collective practice and manifestation of M Woods' exploration of a digital sickness -- in forms both intimate and global at once. Woods' work is a cross between intense mourning, active resistance, and a cinema of visual praxis. In some ways he is one of the few filmmakers working today that truly feels aesthetically of this time. The program will also feature a work by Jack Smith to highlight the intergenerational connection of the avant-garde.
