Johnny Minotaur trailer

Directed by surrealist poet, diarist, photographer, and filmmaker Charles Henri Ford for this lyrical exploration of taboo subjects such as incest, intergenerational desire, and pansexuality. Johnny Minotaur is narrated by impressive artists such as Salvador Dali, Allen Ginsberg, Warren Sonbert, and Lynn Tillman.

“The Film-Makers’ Cooperative has restored Johnny Minotaur and resuscitated this classic of forgotten, queer cinema belongs alongside the films of Kenneth Anger, Derek Jarman, and Jean Genet” –writer and filmmaker Kyle Harris

The Carnal Screen is a monthly screening of films from the collection of The Film-Makers’ Cooperative. In collaboration with The Museum of Sex and The Roxy Cinema, this series focuses on an alternative image of the body, of sex, and of intimacy – images that are about individuality and freedom of expression, rather than standardization and profit.

Curated by MM (Mary Magdalene) Serra, Executive Director of the Film Makers’
Cooperative, Illyse Singer, Curator at the Roxy Cinema, and Eve Arballo, Curator at the Museum of Sex.
