Biography

Patrick McGuinn was born in Los Angeles in 1966, the son of well-known 1960s rock musician Roger McGuinn. Gaining an interest in filmmaking from his father, Patrick began making super-8mm films at age nine, this in addition to having life-long interests in music, puppets and theatre. He would later perform in punk-rock music bands as a teenager. After studying film and television production at NYU Film School, Patrick worked in editorial post production roles on numerous PBS documentaries and independent film projects, and gradually branched out into his own independent low-budget film-making. Early works have quirky, humorous themes, whereas later work has explored moody, erotic themes, and embraces diversity in human sexuality. Over time Patrick has amassed an array of these short and feature-length works, the majority of which have secured distribution and have been viewed at film festivals worldwide, with the feature-length works being theatrically released in New York City to very distinctive reviews and reception. Additionally, all of the feature films have been distributed on multi-platform streaming outlets Worldwide.
