About
"Clay Fields" is a found footage psychological horror feature film/tape written, directed and shot by Ramzi Abed.
"Clay Fields" received its world premiere as an official selection of the 2003 Dallas Video Festival, and screened at the Dallas Museum of Art. The film/tape was then vaulted by its producers for the next 18 years until now. 2021 marks the first public (streaming) release of the film in any format.
"Clay Fields" is a ghost story told partially in reverse in the form of a found footage VHS tape. The film that you are watching is made up of the actual contents of the videotape. Before there was "Paranormal Activity", "V/H/S", or "Trash Humpers", there was "Clay Fields". Clay Fields is the title character, who is murdered at the beginning of the film/tape. The film/tape then goes back to the events leading up to his mysterious murder. Clay meets strange people who seem to almost literally come out of the woodwork. Is his apartment haunted? Is he, himself, a ghost? All that Clay knows for sure is that there is someone named Max who knows more about the apartment's history. Is this Clay's story or Max's? A claustrophobic and hallucinatory experience awaits adventurous viewers. Turn out the lights, and turn up the speakers. "Clay Fields" is ready for you.
"Clay Fields" stars Eric Fleming (a.k.a. Erica Jayve Fleming), Scott Jepson, Heather Bohlmann, Dan Walton, Ted Uhlemann, Ramzi Abed, Andrew Wolven, Daniel Finster, and introducing Icky The Cat.
Featuring ambient and noise/industrial music from Elektracity and Cyberblast Records recording artists, Oneiros and Lysogeny.
