A Few Minutes with the Chinatown Basketball Club documents a typical late-winter Sunday School run of the CBC, a weekly celebration of pick-up hoops at Columbus Park in Manhattan's Chinatown. The film unfolds essentially as it was captured that day using a Bolex H16 Reflex and black & white reversal film. Audio recorded courtside was added later, as were the hand-drawn titles. Shot at the sidelines and from the hip, this spontaneous portrait of the Club at play is a persaonl tribute to CBC's spirit of joyful, competitive camaraderie, and a meditation on a unique and evolving community.
