Albion Rising2009

Jude Rawlins' debut feature film Albion Rising was first exhibited at the East Side Gallery in Berlin in 2009. It was projected on to a remaining stretch of the Berlin Wall on the twentieth anniversary of the opening of Checkpoint Charlie. It explores themes of freedom and repression through the poetry of William Blake, Ella Wheeler Willcox, Charlotte Mew, Charles Baudelaire, John Milton and John Donne. It exemplies the Blakean ideal that one cannot truly be imprisoned as long as one's imagination is free. Filmed in London and Berlin, and featuring Dudley Sutton, Juliet Landau, Eileen Daly, and Suzanne Andrade.
